Design direction
Crafted with Sagiper's vision, our trade show booth design aimed
to capture the essence of domestic Scandinavian architecture, aligning the aesthetic with their product line. We strived to achieve an open & inviting design, seamlessly integrating the outdoor and indoor spaces, and ensuring unobstructed sight lines to provide a seamless viewing experience for visitors.
Flow
We research into Scandinavian architecture and visitor flow layouts, such as linear and multi entry layouts, to optimize the use of space and encourage organic movement. Our clients leaned towards an open spaced linear flow, providing visitors with a seamless and intuitive flow through the booth.
Refinements
The design was refined to adopt the popular Scandinavian A-frame style, highlighted by contrasting light and dark woods. The design featured a stylistic angled floor, causing the roof to intriguingly overlap itself. Guided by a simple linear visitor flow, the open layout allows all materials and structural components to be viewed clearly from any angle, offering a complete experience of Sagiper's offerings.
Production
The structure was created using custom aluminum frames & brackets for its high strength-to-weight properties, cost efficiency, and ease of transport. A complex electrical system was added into the structure's skeleton & cladded over using Sagiper's product.
Experience
To enhance the ambience of a real home environment, we integrated authentic elements such as mounted product frames, fenced decking with turf grass and networking space, and a custom island centrepiece adorned with warm pendant lights to highlight samples of Sagiper's previous product lines.
The future for Sagiper
Sagiper is scheduled to display its booth in various locations across the United States in 2023 and 2024. With this in mind, we designed an assembly manual to facilitate a smooth assembly process every show.
Challenges and reflections
I have reflected on the challenges faced in this project for future builds. Some of the specific challenges I encountered in my role included:
1
Independently overseeing a project, coordinating stakeholders, and managing logistics.
2
Designing shipping crates to meet international standards for long-term use
3
Understanding and integrating intricate electrical systems
4
Crafting clear assembly instructions, including electrical components
